Luke’s Place London is looking for you to be our Director of Mission. Luke’s Place is a safe, friendly, inclusive space where 18 to 30 year-olds in the neighbourhood feel valued as the person God created them to be.

As the half time (25 hours/week) Director of an innovative Special Ministry of the Diocese of Huron you will work with a dynamic Board and a fun-loving hospitable Worshipping Community to develop Luke’s Place to full time and more! Stipend, housing and benefits according to the Diocese of Huron scale.

Put your Master of Divinity and your Clinical Pastoral Education to work. Use your excellent facilitation and team-building skills to build community and partnerships. Spread the word and invite others in through your mastery of Social Media.

Role and expectations

Interns are expected to be a visible part of our communityworshiping regularly with the St. Luke's Worshipping Community and participating in our Luke's Place Ministry.

The total time commitment is expected to average 3-4 hours/week during the academic term. Successful applicants may be required to provide police record checks depending on the nature of their placement.

Student Interns will commit themselves to the following components of the programme:

  • Bi-weekly (6 per term) faith formation meetings led by Canon Adele and participants of Luke's Place with St. Luke's worshipping community

  • Leadership Development Sessions led by a variety of expert facilitators on topics of leadership styles, communication, conflict resolution, spirituality, and social justice

  • Community placement of approximately 2 hours/week. Community placement option includes:

    • Placement within Luke's place or St. Luke's Worshipping Community:

      • Campus Ministry

      • Youth Ministry 

      • Children's Ministry

      • Chaplaincy Work

      • Event Planning

      • Social Media and Communications

      • Music Leadership

    • Placements with our community partners to help those in need in our community: 

      • St. John the Evangelist's hospitality programme

Application Process

  1. Fill out the Internship Application Form and email it to Canon Adele (

  2. Successful candidates will be contacted for an interview with Canon Adele to learn more about Luke's Place, discern their gifts and passions, and discuss placement opportunities

  3. Interns are expected to arrive in London Ontario by Sept. 1st for orientation and to participate in Luke's Place "Welcome to the Neighbourhood" activities​

  4. Applicants must be post-secondary students, ages 17-30

  5. Placements and other components of the programme commence in September 

  6. Interns will receive an honorarium of $500 per semester( $1000 total) for their successful completion of the programme.
